		<description>The very idea of applying pseudo-release numbers to the web was, I think, a bit of a gimmick from another Tim (O&#039;Reilly). 

As a publisher and conference producer specialising in internet-related content, he had a vested interest in a bit of hype.

 The evolution of the web is not just about the appearance of new applications and ideas, but also the spread to the many of skills, and access to technology,  originally held by a few. That&#039;s when UGC creates more UGC, and economies of scale bring costs down.</description>
